At this moment,  QR code are still not widely used in Hong Kong.  As more people got the smartphone and the QR code scanner software are freely available in iphone, android phone, we believe more people will adapt QR code to their products or services.

A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The “QR” is derived from “Quick Response”, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.

Few notes about QR code:

1.) It’s 3D, can be scanned not just horizontal. It can be in any direction.

2.) It allow error checking,  even the image is not intact.

3.) It’s already widely used in some countries (e.g. japan)

4.) It can be used in some marketing materials for quick access.

5.) It can redirect the web access to registration form or promotion page.

6.) On the other hands, people may downloaded the QR code to their phone, and then show it as event tickets.

We plan to support QR code generation in our products such as the Content Management SystemSourceCatalog. We believe we are one of first CMS in Hong Kong which supports it.

Also, this blog already got the QR code for each post.
